What is 2-Shot Injection Molding?

2-shot injection molding, also called 2K molding, bi-injection molding, dual-shot molding, or multi-shot molding, is a plastic injection molding process that combines two materials or two colors into one integrated molded component.

The first shot usually forms the rigid substrate, while the second shot adds soft TPU, TPR, TPV, TPE or another compatible material to improve grip, sealing, appearance, functionality, and product durability.
